How To Use A Rinseless Car Wash At Home!
Do you need to wash your car? Needing another way to do it other than the traditional bucket and hose method? then you are in the right place. Washing your car isn’t always the most convenient thing to do. If you live at an apartment then you know what I mean. A lack of a water source along with no garage to shade you from the weather can make it challenging. For example; a hot day making the water dry real fast on the paint and therefore causing water spots. Even if you have a garage this is still an easier and faster way of keeping your car clean. Rinseless wash solutions can also have more lubrication than car soap. These wash solutions work by encapsulating the dirt particles making it easier, and safer, to wipe away the dirt without inducing swirls and marring on the paint. Let’s go over what you will need and the process for this method.
There of course are a few things you will need, and these are:
(1) 5 gallon bucket
A screw on lid for the bucket. You can get these at Lowe’s
A 32oz spray bottle
Empty milk jug
A pack of microfiber towels. I like the thinner ones you can get in a pack. Less weight and less drag than the thicker ones
Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash. Found at Autogeek, Amazon, or other online stores
Microfiber drying towels. The weaved microfiber drying towels are really good
A sealant for protection after you are done (optional)
The process is pretty easy to do. Unlike a regular car wash session, you will clean the car panel by panel. This does go by faster than how it sounds. But before we get into that lets get our rinseless wash solution set up:
Put about 3 gallons of water into the 5 gallon bucket
Add 1 ounce of Uber Rinseless wash into the three gallons of water
Now fill up the milk jug with water
Put 3 ounces of Uber Rinseless Wash into the gallon jug. This is what we will use in the spray bottle as a prespray (if needed)
Now we are ready to get to it. The first thing to do is to make sure that the car qualifies for this. If the vehicle has a ton of mud, road salt, or anything else that seems to be caked on pretty thick, then you will want to at the very least go spray it off first at a car wash. This rinseless wash method is good to use for a daily driver to clean a car once a week from normal driving. But it has its limits. So let’s get into the process.
If needed take to car wash, or use hose at home, and spray off big particles.
Grab the prespray and spray down the panel you want to start with.
Get your microfiber towels and place several into the bucket.
Take one out and fold into fours
Place the towel flat onto the panel and make a swipe in a straight line using NO pressure.
Using your thumb lift/fold the towel past the dirt line you just made so you are working with a clean leading edge.
Place microfiber right below the first swipe and repeat.
flip and or fold the towel when it gets dirty.
Keep doing this until the panel is done.
Using your drying towel go over the panel. Straight lines and no pressure.
Move on to the next panel until the entire car is done.
If needed apply a quality sealant of your choosing for protection of the paint.
You will do this method for the rest of the panels, including the glass. The big thing here is to NEVER put the dirty towel back into the three gallon rinseless wash bucket. Just toss the towels aside to be washed. This way the wash solution stays clean. You can then just screw the lid on to the bucket to put it aside and use it for later.
